One down, four to go...

Yes yes yes, back in business. I have no idea why my writing is this big, it´s supposed to be normal size arial font. It really really really really annoyes me.

Right now, we´re in a tiny town called Cachoeira doing our photoexam aswell as writing a story..exciting. The town is so nice, the people are so nice, only problem is it´s still raining.
The exam we had on monday that was theory in photo and journalism, went quite well, actually. Sweet! So, only four more exams to go - portuguese oral and written, photo and journalism:) And all this is just a pice of cake! Or, at least it´s going to be fun:)

So I spoke to the lead singer (who I still don´t know the name of) in my current favorite band, Mohana, and he would love to help me out/give an interview when I´m doing my story on music in Salvador. Yay:D And the other day, Jonathan, Elin´s "boyfriend" brought over some music dvd´s, one in which Michael Jackson is in Pelourinho (the old city in Salvador) doing a music video with Olodum (the famous drumband from salvador)! How cool is that. Super cool.

I´m still tired of the rain, it´s so unnescessary (is that spelled correctly? And do you say spelled or spelt? Spelled?) Yes yes, I know, it´s good for the farmers. By the way, we have huge bats here. In our building. And grasshoppers and cockroaches and so on. Most of you know how I (would) react when faced with one of these devious creatures. One of them was on Connie´s bed the other night!! Ofcourse, Sigrun took care of it.

Not much more to tell...Our journalist teacher, Steen Steensen is really nice, so is his wife Kristine (it was so funny when we met, and I said "Marte" and she said "Kristine", oh my that was hilarious) and they have the cuteste little kid kalled Leo who is only 6 months old:)

Ok, off to buy some candy and have night meeting with the "grown-ups" (they´re really not grown-up at all, at least not Terje)

Heii!

Morro de são paulo

It´s finally vacation here, and we tok the Katamarão to an island right outside of Salvador called Morro de são paulo. Here it´s very primitive, the island consists only of sant and jungle and donkeys. No cars. It´s crazy. So we´re relaxing at the beach, my skin isn´t burnt anymore, it´s fantastic. So there are 25 norwegian lawstudents here, we´re meeting them tonight:)

Our photo professor, Terje Bringedal, is a photographer in vg and he´s really cool..taking pictures is fun, but I really really suck :( Just have to practice. We have an assignment due monday that is to consist of five pictures, abstract, with the theme/clue "traces"...so that´s kind of exciting.

I´m sorry I´m just so sick of writing this blog. Nothing exciting to tell anymore. But as soon as something eventful happens,I´ll post;)

Tchau!

Home assignment...or go to the beach

Yeah, this week we had a home assignment in journalism, so we´ve been taking it wasy at the beach most of the time. No, seriously, we wen to this outdoor market, sao joaquim, which is the biggest in all of south america, and we had to write about this. I did it on wednesday, so I did good ;) So this market was really crappy..I mean, there was lots of nice stuff like clothes and shoes and fruit and so on, but all of a sudden, with no warning what so ever, we were in the "meat department"...and sweet mother of jesus, I was sure I was going to faint. And i never faint. There were skulls from sheep and goats that had just removed the skin form, there were brains, eyeballs, cut-off legs, intestants and the worst smell I have ever witnessed..I mean, it smelt like..4875693487563485 dead animals in one place. I had to rund through there, holding my nose and working really hard not to throw up. And it would never end!! It was a seriously traumatic experience.

Other than that..We've been invited to a friend's beach house up north this weekend, so we're going there tomorrow. We five girls who live together, Jair and Robinson and Fabio (!) and lots of other guys. But they're all very nice, and we're just going to sleep and tan and swim and listen to reggae and barbecue and look at seaturtles and have a good time :)
Yesterday we went to world bar (yes, again) because there was live reggae, and I was told that my favorite band, Mohana, was going to play..But it turned out to be a lie. The other band was pretty good, though. And reggae is so cool. I love reggae.

Well, I have nothing more to write! Other than that we have cute, little lizzards in our appartment, our cleaning lady spends nine hours cleaning once a week (she even does the dishes!), and I can't fit into the biggest size jeans they have for girls here, which is size 46. So there.

Ciao!
