Saudade :(

I don't enjoy being home in Bodø! Not one bit! I miss the beach, the sun, the temperature, our school with the hunkalicious recepcionist (mmmm), I miss our appartment, I miss going to the Mohana concerts at World bar, I miss going to Pelourinho and eating club sandwich at bahiacafe.com, I miss going to República do reggae in the pouring rain and I miss speaking portuguese to all our amazing sweet wonderful brasilian friends...!!!! :(

But I love all my norwegian friends aswell :¤

I am, however, the most depressed girl in the world at the moment

Yo yo people..how´s it hangin? I am depressed. Yeah, I said it. I don´t want to get my exam assignment tomorrow cause I´m horrified that my idea won´t work, and I don´t want to go home in a week cause I met the most beautiful man alive here in Salvador, and I kind of don´t want to leave him. And I don´t want to not be able to see his band play once a week, cause they´re the coolest band I have ever seen and they are just so good and he´s such an amazing singer and songwriter and performer and they are just an amazing band in every way. And the other day I got my cellphone stolen by some punk on the beach, which means I don´t have his number anymore which means I can´t get to him and he can´t get to me! And now I only have one week left and I don´t want to waste one single day without him, and that´s why all this sucks.
And the beach here is very comfortabel, so is the temperature...and the people here are so nice. And almost every day there is a concert, and it´s cheap here (and still I manage to go bankrupt every single month), and my classmates are so sweet, and the milkshake at sandwich hall is soooo good, and so is the club sandwich at bahiacafe.com...

Hey! This weekend we went to this town called Arembepe, very cosy, and there there was a small hippievillage which was just too cool, where both Janis Joplin and Mick Jagger have lived! Woooow, how cool is that?? I saw the space where Janis´ house used to be...! I´m the coolest kid on the block.

But my mum and my dad and my sister and my grandfather and my cousin and my friends are nice, so I´ll survive:) Got lots of presents when I come home ;)

I am, in fact, not the richest girl alive

That´s how I feel everytime I withdraw money from the bank. Yay, 1000 reals, I can go mad shopping...when really, I can´t. No chance. 6000 norwegian kr is not that much a month...especially when you´re reanting a flat, you eat more than you breathe and you love the reggae parties. Cause there is a loooot of reggae parting here. And i looooove it. So, we spend some money drinking beer with the rastafaris. And to top it off, these brasilians who are just too cute with dreadlocks and tattoos and beards and cups in their ears sit along the beach selling these beautiful earrings and bracelets and what not, made from tree and straw and so on...and I can´s help myself, not only is their stuff so nice, but they are just so darn cute...!!! It´s not expensive anyway, unless you buy from these freaks from Chile. They are seriously expensive, and their stuff isn´t half as nice as the stuff my brasilians friends sell.

Other than that, having Kristin here is great, but she´s got a bad sunburn:(
Of course we knew it was coming, I mean, look at me the first week here! Jibeless. You can´t help but become shockingly red in this sun. Thank god, I´m starting to get a smooth tan.
And the christmas presents are taken care of, yeah!! Except from the hand carved tucan from the amazon that my dad is wishing for... No, he´s not at all difficult... Did I write all this in my last entry?? I can never remember what I wrote the last time, sorry if I´m repeating myself, then it´s just things I feel very strongly about.

<3<3<3<3<3 MOHANA <3<3<3<3<3

I just LOVE that band. Jesus, they are so awesome, Thomas, the singer, is so talented you won´t believe it, I mean, he sings Pink floyd better than David and Roger combined, no kidding!!! He´s the best, and their energy onstage is just beyond me, they are so incredible, their music is so beautiful and they are just incredible people, I love them. I am buying their cd, I bought a t-shit and a poster, and I love MOHANA<3

Ok, tonight we´re going to something called AFROPOP! How cool is that? It´s got to be extremely cool judging by the sound of it. Starts at ten o´clock tonight and lasts until five. It´s going to be awesome! Excited to see what goes down there. I´m sure there´ll be no marijuana going around at least, that´s for sure (...)

Tchau amigos, beleza!

Two down, three to go...

Yes, the photoexam is history and sweet mother of Jesus that was about time. Think I got some good pictures though, at a tattooshop with a sweet guy named Igor :) Hehe...
So we had our exam in a tiny town called Cachoeira,it was so extremely hot...but a very nice place with very nice people. The word cachoeira actually means waterfall, and we actually swam in the waterfall! Yeah, we walked in the jungle for like half an hour until we got to a big waterfall and it was so nice :)

Mohana is playing at world bad every thursday in november, and that is so great, they just get better and better every time i hear them. The lead singer, Thomas Anderson (what the hell kind of a brasilian name is that?) is now in fact my best friend here and I really don`t want to go home cause I`d rather stay here and marry him, but that`s just not going to happen. I don't want to go home, I really don't. We only have 33 days left, two weeks of school...jesus, it seems so short!! Have to start planning when to come back.

Oh,and it's raining like hell here. Yesterday was Repùblica do reggae, huge festival, and it was sooo cool...but it was raining so much and the streets were flooding so that kind of sucked. But it was cool, we saw Olodum, famous drumband..Michael Jackson has a music video from
Pelourinho with Olodum, the song "They don't really care about us"..It's so cool. Did I already say that?

Ok, tchau for now!

One down, four to go...

Yes yes yes, back in business. I have no idea why my writing is this big, it´s supposed to be normal size arial font. It really really really really annoyes me.

Right now, we´re in a tiny town called Cachoeira doing our photoexam aswell as writing a story..exciting. The town is so nice, the people are so nice, only problem is it´s still raining.
The exam we had on monday that was theory in photo and journalism, went quite well, actually. Sweet! So, only four more exams to go - portuguese oral and written, photo and journalism:) And all this is just a pice of cake! Or, at least it´s going to be fun:)

So I spoke to the lead singer (who I still don´t know the name of) in my current favorite band, Mohana, and he would love to help me out/give an interview when I´m doing my story on music in Salvador. Yay:D And the other day, Jonathan, Elin´s "boyfriend" brought over some music dvd´s, one in which Michael Jackson is in Pelourinho (the old city in Salvador) doing a music video with Olodum (the famous drumband from salvador)! How cool is that. Super cool.

I´m still tired of the rain, it´s so unnescessary (is that spelled correctly? And do you say spelled or spelt? Spelled?) Yes yes, I know, it´s good for the farmers. By the way, we have huge bats here. In our building. And grasshoppers and cockroaches and so on. Most of you know how I (would) react when faced with one of these devious creatures. One of them was on Connie´s bed the other night!! Ofcourse, Sigrun took care of it.

Not much more to tell...Our journalist teacher, Steen Steensen is really nice, so is his wife Kristine (it was so funny when we met, and I said "Marte" and she said "Kristine", oh my that was hilarious) and they have the cuteste little kid kalled Leo who is only 6 months old:)

Ok, off to buy some candy and have night meeting with the "grown-ups" (they´re really not grown-up at all, at least not Terje)

Heii!

Morro de são paulo

It´s finally vacation here, and we tok the Katamarão to an island right outside of Salvador called Morro de são paulo. Here it´s very primitive, the island consists only of sant and jungle and donkeys. No cars. It´s crazy. So we´re relaxing at the beach, my skin isn´t burnt anymore, it´s fantastic. So there are 25 norwegian lawstudents here, we´re meeting them tonight:)

Our photo professor, Terje Bringedal, is a photographer in vg and he´s really cool..taking pictures is fun, but I really really suck :( Just have to practice. We have an assignment due monday that is to consist of five pictures, abstract, with the theme/clue "traces"...so that´s kind of exciting.

I´m sorry I´m just so sick of writing this blog. Nothing exciting to tell anymore. But as soon as something eventful happens,I´ll post;)

Tchau!
